No Shortage of Supplies for MFI Kitchens

After Britain's biggest furniture retailer MFI went into administration November 26th of last year, the bankrupt furniture giant said existing orders will most likely be refunded as it closed its 110 stores.

Independent specialist supplier of replacement lamps and lighting control gear National Lamps and Components said recently that it has ample supply of the full range of replacement fluorescent tubes and fittings to fit thousands of MFI, Hygena, and Schreiber kitchens.
The development, says Kirsty Saggers, the Operations Manager at National Lamps and Components, should be good news to the tens of thousands of MFI kitchen owners who might find it difficult to purchase Smilight (Diplomat) replacement fluorescent tubes and fittings after MFI collapsed into administration some two months ago.
The fluorescent tubes, according to the Essex-based company, are available in 8 watt, 13 watt, and 24 watt, as well as Smilight fittings.
"As you may be aware from the 26th November 2008 MFI went into administration which will make it very difficult to purchase the replacement tubes and fittings for under cabinet lighting fitted to thousands of MFI, Hygena and Schreiber kitchens," says the Operations Manager of MFI. National Lamps and Components has more than a few years' worth of experience in supplying ballasts, chokes, high frequency ballasts, dimmable and non dimmable, ignitors, capacitors, emergency lighting modules, and a wide range of lamp holders and other lighting accessories. Over the years, it has delivered technical service to electrical contractors, facility managers, and engineering maintenance staff around the U.K.
MFI has cited falling demand for big ticket items, cash-flow problems, and the withdrawal of credit for filing bankruptcy. "The company has suffered from severe cash flow pressure as a result of credit insurance being withdrawn across the sector and the general market deterioration, which has led to the failure of certain key suppliers," MFI was quoted as saying in Times Online.
